This season has highlighted some great talents, but will anyone reach the likes of Messi and Ronaldo?
With football back on the menu, and almost at a close in Germaany, it’s time to have a look at potential ratings for FIFA 21!
Here’s our predictions of the best players of the game, in a range of categories.
FIFA 21 Top 5 Ratings Predictions
The following players are who we expect to be the top five rated players in FIFA 21 and their predicted ratings.
Lionel Messi (OVR 93)
No prizes for guessing who we predict as the number one man on FIFA 21 – it’s got be the footballing phenomenon that is Lionel Messi.
He may have won the Ballon d’Or this year, but due to his age and his lack of European success recently we expect his overall rating to drop to 93.
Cristiano Ronaldo (OVR 92)
For years, Messi and Ronaldo have been battling out for the top spot. It’s fair to say that the two of them have been in a league of their own in the footballing world, but now others are catching up.
We may not want to accept it, but the Portuguese forward will be 35 years old by the time FIFA 21 comes out! Unless Juve win the Champions League, we can’t see Ronaldo getting above a 92 rating.
Kevin De Bruyne (OVR 92)
As all Premier League fans have been witness to this season, Kevin De Bruyne has been utterly outstanding in his most recent Man City campaign.
Guardiola’s squad have fallen short of Liverpool this season, and we dread to think how much bigger that gap would be if they didn’t have KDB. 92 overall would be a fair reflection of the Belgian’s talent.
Neymar (OVR 92)
The Brazilian is probably in the prime of his footballing career – he’s won two Ligue 1 trophies, two domestic cups and two Supercups in France, but now it looks like Neymar fancies a move back to Barcelona.
Therefore, FIFA 21 will likely see the winger retain his 92 overall rating, but could we see a change of club?
Virgil van Dijk (OVR 91)
It’s not often that a centre back is hailed as a world-class team’s best player – enter Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman has been an unbreakable force at the back for Liverpool, as they sail ahead in the Premier League.
Van Dijk probably deserves to be rated higher than 91 overall, but having been rated 90 last year, it’s unlikely he’ll jump to the lofty heights of 92.
FUT 21 Icons
New legends seem to turn up with every passing FIFA game, with more set to appear in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.
Franz Beckenbauer (ICON 93)
Franz Beckenbauer last appeared in the FIFA series back in FIFA 17, and we feel the Kaiser is due for a return.
Given he is a Bayern Munich legend, a FUT 21 card could be unlikely, with Bayern one of Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer partner clubs.
Ones to Watch
Ones to Watch are players in Ultimate Team who have moved clubs in the transfer window.
They receive a special OTW item, that improves to match their latest in-form cards from the Team of the Week.
Timo Werner (OVR 86)
The second superstar to join Chelsea this summer after Hakim Ziyech, the Blues are slowly beginning to assemble a squad that can challenge for the title.
With 34 goals in all competitions last season, if things click at Stamford Bridge, Werner could be in the frame for the golden boot.
Premier League Ratings
With Virgil van Dijk and Kevin De Bruyne already mentioned above, we believe the next highest rated player in the division will be Liverpool’s Sadio Mane.
Bundesliga Ratings
Perhaps the best number 9 in the world, Robert Lewandowski shows no signs of letting up age 31.
La Liga Ratings
With the king that is Lionel Messi in our top five, it’s time for some goalkeeper appreciation with Atletico Madrid stopper Jan Oblak.
Serie A Ratings
Going beyond Cristiano Ronaldo in the goal scoring charts this season has been Lazio’s Ciro Immobile with 27 Serie A goals.
Ligue 1 Ratings
Possibly the quickest player in the world, Kylian Mbappe is also clinical in front of goal.
FIFA 21 Wonderkids
For you Career Mode players out there, you will want to know who are the most prominent players are when FIFA 21 rolls around.
We take a look at who are set to be the most promising teenage wonderkids on the new game.
Erling Braut Haaland (OVR 81)
Erling Haaland scored eight Champions League goals for RB Salzburg before moving to Germany and has taken his season tally to 40 goals in just 33 games!
A star in the making, Haaland has everything. The Norwegian is tall, fast, strong and lethal in front of goal. With a potential of 90 on FIFA 20 Career Mode, Haaland is in line to be one of FIFA 21’s future stars.
FIFA 21 Speedsters
Whether you play on Career Mode, Ultimate Team or even just an exhibition against your mates – you want pace in your team.
Alphonso Davies (OVR 81)
Both a speedster and a wonderkid, Alphonso Davies could be the signing on FIFA 20 Career Mode.
With the Bayern starlet just 19 years’ old, expect him to move further forward as his career develops, after tearing up the MLS as a winger.
FIFA 21 Strongest Players
If you don’t have pace, this can be nullifed with very strong players you can hold off their opponent.
Adebayo Akinfenwa (OVR 65)
There can only be one man for the strongest player on the game, and he could be playing in the Championship next season!
Adebayo Akinfenwa’s strength makes him an asset to any side, but aged 38, The Beast may decide to hang up his boots.
